Task–Literature Analysis Essay

Write a 3- to 5-page essay that analyzes one of the works discussed during the second half of the semester. These works include the following:

  • J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
  • Stephen Chbosky’s The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Your course documents in the “Writing Literature Essays” folder in your Blackboard course shell contains much information about how to write a literary analysis essay.

For this assignment, you must write an argument that provides your interpretation/ analysis of the work and supports that claim with appropriate and sufficient details (evidence) from the work. Your interpretation must come fromyour own reading and thinking about the work—not from critical or literary analyses you have read about it (including CliffNotes and SparkNotes).

You do not need outside sources. When referring to the work(s), use only author and title. If you do use outside sources in addition to your chosen work(s),(1) use parenthetical citation in the text of your essay and (2) include at the end of the essay a Works Cited page (MLA format). Not to document sources constitutes plagiarism.

society and media paper

PLEASE NO PLAGIARISM

AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS

Assignment 1: Position Paper One – Media and Society
Due Week 5 and worth 200 points

This is the first of two (2) position papers based on the following scenario to be completed in this course.

Imagine that you are running for a state office (e.g., governor, senator, or Congressional representative) and you have to prepare a position paper for a debate on controversial issues in the news. (Select one (1) of the topics addressed in the first four weeks of this class.) Remember that you are addressing a significant segment of your state’s population and you want to be elected to public office, so your topic will have to have a broad appeal, such as the importance of family values, the fair treatment of women in the workplace (equal pay for equal work), the treatment of minorities, and the media and one’s self-image, among other topics from those chapters.

You will want your position paper to demonstrate critical thinking, sound logic, valid claims, personal passion, and credible support that is cited correctly because the paper will be provided to the news media before the debate and will be scrutinized by the media and reported on regarding these criteria.

Write a two to three (2-3) page (500 to 750 words) paper in which you:

  1. Introduce your position using a thesis statement in the first paragraph, including a quote, question, or statistic from your reliable sources and an overview of the main points you will cover. (It’s important to grab the audience’s interest and inform the audience of what the main and support points are.)
  2. Provide two or three (2-3) major points to support your thesis statement. (Put each major point in a separate paragraph.)
  3. Provide one (1) paragraph in which you identify and answer an expected argument against your view.
  4. Organize arguments and support your claims effectively.
  5. Demonstrate personal passion for your position and critical thinking with persuasive language, sound logic, valid claims, and credible support for the claims.
  6. Use the Strayer University Library at https://research.strayer.edu to locate and provide two to three (2-3) credible and reliable sources (in addition to the textbook) about current events, which have been published in the last five (5) years and are cited correctly in the position paper. (Wikipedia, dictionaries, and encyclopedias are unacceptable and will not count toward your number of credible sources.)

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

  • Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow Strayer Writing Standards. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
  • Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.

The specific course learning outcomes associated with this assignment are:

  • Apply critical thinking skills to the analysis of issues involving mass media and society.
  • Use technology and information resources to research issues in media and society.
  • Write clearly and concisely about media and society using proper writing mechanics.

Define her or his characteristics and goals such as an employee or employer, relatively young (less than 40 years) or close to retirement, having some savings/property, a risk taker or risk averter, etc. Next, use Nexis Uni at the Strayer University library, located at Nexis Uni, click on “Company Dossier” to research the stock of any U.S. publicly traded company that you may consider as an investment opportunity for your client. Your investment should align with your client’s investment goals. (Note: Please ensure that you are able to find enough information about this company in order to complete this assignment. You will create an appendix, in which you will insert related information.)

Your final financial research report will be 6–8 pages long and be completed in two parts as noted below. This assignment requires you to use at least five quality academic resources and cover the following topics:

    • Rationale for choosing the company in which to invest
    • Ratio analysis
    • Stock price analysis
    • Recommendations

Refer to the following resources to assist with completing your assignment:

  1. Provide a rationale for the stock that you selected, indicating the significant economic, financial, and other factors that led you to consider this stock.
  2. Suggest the primary reasons why the selected stock is a suitable investment for your client. Include a description of your client’s profile.
  3. Just list five resources you’ll use to complete this assignment and begin to build your reference list. Remember you must use at least five quality academic resources for the final assignment.

Part 2 Due Week 9 (6–8 pages including #1 and #2 from Part 1)

  1. Include your rationale, primary reasons for stock selection, and client’s profile from Part 1, making any revisions based upon Part 1 feedback if applicable.
  2. Select any five financial ratios that you have learned about in the text. Analyze the past 3 years of the selected financial ratios for the company; you may obtain this information from the company’s financial statements. Determine the company’s financial health. (Note: Suggested ratios include, but are not limited to, current ratio, quick ratio, earnings per share, and price earnings ratio.)
  3. Based on your financial review, determine the risk level of the stock from your investor’s point of view. Indicate key strategies that you may use in order to minimize these perceived risks.
  4. Provide your recommendations of this stock as an investment opportunity. Support your rationale with resources, such as peer-reviewed articles, material from the Strayer University Library, and reviews by market analysts.
  5. Conduct a literature review and list at least five quality academic resources. Note: Wikipedia and other similar websites do not qualify as academic resources.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

  • Be typed, double-spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with 1-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow the Strayer Writing Standards (SWS). The format is different than other Strayer University courses. Please take a moment to review the SWS documentation for details.
  • Properly cite all sources.
  • Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.

The specific course learning outcomes associated with this assignment are as follows:

team management part three 1

Until now, you have had to leave your team management program running on your computer indefinitely since you did not want to lose the list of players. Finally, you are ready to add the components to your team management program that will allow you to store the player’s information on your computer’s hard drive, thus, allow you to shut down your program without losing your data.

You will need to modify your program to:

  1. include a Save option in the main menu which will prompt the program to write the player’s data to a text file.
  2. modify the startup code so that the program calls a function that reads the player’s data from the text file into the list of member objects.

For this project:

  • You will submit your python code in either the original .py file, or copied into a .txt file.
  • A screenshot of your code having been executed (run). How to Take a Screenshot

Tips: Think about how you are going to write the data to the text file when you create the load function. Your write function needs to read in the data in the same pattern as the load function, otherwise the data will get jumbled.

Sample output:

C:>python week6.py
