human rights report

The main assignment in this course is a human rights report in which you will be asked to analyze a contemporary world issues through a human rights lens. This will require some external research. Think of this report as something that an international nongovernmental organization (like Human Rights Watch or Amnesty International) produces with the hopes of having influence of policy reform. I will provide some examples in class. You will be asked to provide background on a contemporary issue, identify and analyze which human rights are violated, identify and analyze the political, social, economic drivers of the abuses, and consider some solutions. The instructions and assignment will be posted on GauchoSpace the first week of the class, so you will have the entire quarter to work on it. The paper must be no more than 2000 words no less than 1700 words, double spaced, 12 pt. font, 1in margins and uploaded onto GauchoSpace by 11:55 pm on Sunday July 28
